Falora help

Something is broken

Open Settings inside the app, then "Something is wrong". That writes a mail with the build number, your phone and a short summary of what the app has done, which is what makes a problem fixable. Or write to hello@getfalora.com directly.

The most common questions

Which languages are there? Six: Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, French and Dutch. You pick one on the first screen and can change it any time in Settings, Language.

Is this European Portuguese? Yes, and only that. Every line is checked by a linter that fails the build on Brazilian vocabulary or grammar, and the voice is a Portugal voice. Every other language defends its own split the same way: Spain Spanish and not Latin American, German German and not Austrian or Swiss, France French and not Canadian, Netherlands Dutch and not Flemish.

How much of each language is there? The same in all six: five places, twenty stops and three hundred words, set in real neighbourhoods of that country. The language picker shows the size and the cities before you choose.

If I change language, do I lose my progress? No. Each language keeps its own stops, words, streak and notes. Switch to Spanish and Portuguese waits exactly where you left it; switch back and it is all still there. Your name, your guide, the theme and your subscription are shared across all six.

Do I need an account? Not to start: the first two lessons work without one. To carry on you create a free account with an email and a password. It keeps your progress safe, puts you on the leaderboards and lets you log in on another phone.

Does it work without signal? Yes. Every lesson and all audio is bundled with the app.

How do I cancel? In the App Store (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) or Google Play (Payments and subscriptions). Cancelling before the trial ends costs nothing. Whatever you have learnt stays on your phone.

I changed phone and my progress is gone. Log in with the same email and password. Every stop you finished, in every language, comes back. Your notes and today's words live on the phone and do not move yet. To get your subscription back, tap "Restore" on the pricing page.

Can I turn the sounds off? Settings, Sounds. The language you are learning always plays; everything else can be silent.

Obrigado or obrigada? Settings, "How you say it". Portuguese changes that word to agree with whoever is speaking, and Falora will say the one you pick everywhere. The other five languages have one word for everybody, so the question is not asked when you are learning them.

How do I delete my account? Settings, then "Delete account" at the bottom. It deletes your account and everything stored with it straight away: email, name, city, XP, kudos and challenges. It cannot be undone. You can also write to hello@getfalora.com from the email you signed up with, and it will be done within a week.
